Lead Direct Support Professional- Residential

Peaceful Living is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional in our Residential Program to support and supervise Direct Support Professionals who are caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will also ensure the health, safety and well-being of the individuals in the home.

Residential Locations: Harleysville, Telford, Lansdale, PA 2nd shift (primary) Full-time

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma/GED
  • Have and maintain a valid (state of residence) driver’s license and driving approval from Peaceful Living
  • Successfully pass and maintain all criminal background checks
  • Complete pre-employment physical and TB test
  • Attend a week long New Employee Orientation held at our main office in Harleysville from 9am – 4pm.
  • Be fully vaccinated and receive a booster when applicable. If not vaccinated, you may show proof of upcoming vaccine appointment to fulfill this requirement.
  • N95 mask fit testing, provided by Peaceful Living
  • At least one year experience working with people with disabilities (preferred)
  • Supervisory experience (preferred)


Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise Direct Support Professionals in all aspects of their job
  • Assisting with direct care when necessary
  • Write reviews and have monthly supervision meeting for all supervised Direct Support Professionals.
  • Communicate in a compassionate and respectful manner with all family members and community members
  • Oversee the daily operations of their assigned community home (including but not limited to: staffing conflicts, menu planning, grocery shopping, and house meetings)
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing for the community home, maintaining the prescribed levels of supervision and adhering to budgetary restrictions. Responsible for monitoring staff clock in and clock out.
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation and documentation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) of the person served.
  • Participate in required team meetings. Maintain healthy communication with the Residential leadership and team members.
  • Ensure a safe, sanitary, and family-like environment in the community home along with the Maintenance Department
  • Oversee and assist in planning of community activities
  • Adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Incident Management Bulletin and Peaceful Living’s Incident Management (IM) Policy to ensure the timely reporting of incidents.
  • Support the individuals in their spiritual life by coordinating their attendance at services or other faith activities of their choice
  • Participate in the Supervisor On-Call rotation.
